Steve designs comprehensive wealth management strategies for high net worth families, business owners and executives - including asset and liability management and advanced estate planning solutions. Prior to his career in wealth management, he served as a helicopter pilot in the Marine Corps where he was decorated for performance in peacetime, humanitarian and combat operations. Steve still serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve.

Steve earned an M.B.A. in Advanced Finance from the University of South Florida and a B.A. in International Relations from Tulane University. Steve enjoys giving back to his community and was inducted into the Rancho Bernardo Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions.

Steve and his wife, Kristine, have two sons, Nicholas and Dylan.  Together, they enjoy travelling, open-water swimming, playing tennis and listening to live music.  Steve believes Poway OnStage is an instrumental link between the arts and the people who love them in the communities of Poway and Rancho Bernardo. He is honored to be part of an organization that is dedicated to two of the things he is most passionate about: music and community.

Appointed to the Poway OnStage Board in 2010, Dennis Naas is a 15-year resident of Poway, having moved here with his wife, Dr. Leigh Ann Burns Naas, from his native Michigan in 2001 to work for Pfizer, Inc. Dennis is the owner of a toxicology and project management consulting business, ProDev Consulting Services, Ltd., which provides pharmaceutical development consulting services to San Diego’s biopharmaceutical businesses.

Dennis, like many other Board members, brings an entrepreneurial spirit to Poway OnStage, along with nearly two decades of large corporate experience (Great Lakes Chemical Corporation and Pfizer). His experience includes managing people in a highly technical, regulated work environment, business development and growth, project leadership and management of international partnerships. Also a certified Project Management Professional, Dennis has applied this varied professional skill set in assisting Poway OnStage to achieve its goals.

In addition to being supporters of Poway OnStage, Dennis and Leigh Ann are also active supporters of the San Diego Symphony, San Diego Zoo Global, the Helen Woodward Animal Center and The Wildcat Sanctuary. Dennis’ hobbies include fishing, golf, gardening, fine wines and sports. 

Dennis served as the Board Chair from 2014-2016. “We have a terrific, dedicated and active Board. I am honored to have served as the Board Chair, and will continue to contribute by mentoring the incoming Chair and new Directors. I appreciate the opportunity to give back to the community and look forward to contributing to the Poway OnStage mission.”

Jim graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1975. He left the Navy in 1981 to join Merrill Lynch. In 1984 he was named the Resident Manager of the then newly opened Rancho Bernardo office, becoming one of the youngest managers in the securities firm’s history. He left Merrill Lynch in 1996 after an assignment as the branch manager of the La Jolla office to start his current business.

Jim chairs peer-advisory boards for local business owners, company presidents, and entrepreneurs. He has also assisted management teams in industries ranging from landscaping and construction to parking and legal services. He sits on a number of Boards, including the College of Business Administration Advisory Board for California State University San Marcos and as the Chairman of the Board of 6 Degrees.  

He is also a published author. His book Blood Atonement, the first of the Dahlgren Wallace mystery series, won the San Diego Book Award for best mystery and France’s .38 Caliber Award for best first mystery novel.

After negotiating an allowance increase at the age of 6, Jim Roth’s family believed he was suited to become an attorney.  Maintaining a daily paper route during 6th grade to save for college, he never missed a delivery come rain, sleet, or snow. As a teenager, his teachers routinely made him the Master of Ceremonies for school presentations because of his quick wit and comfort with public speaking. Throughout his formative years, Jim was preparing to practice law.

An AV-rated attorney by his peers, Jim has devoted his practice to corporate, real estate and business matters, including insurance law. As general counsel to diverse business entities nationwide, Jim is responsible for developing strategies to minimize risk, navigating complex transactions, and representing his clients’ interests in litigation. Jim has successfully tried numerous cases and argued before the California and federal courts of appeal. He is also a frequent speaker and lecturer to professional and community groups on a variety of legal topics and is a regular columnist for the San Diego Defense Lawyers.

Committed to community service and strengthening our community, Jim has assumed leadership positions on an assortment of foundations. He is a former Director for the Blue Sky Community Foundation, the Bernardo Town Center Property Owners’ Association, the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation, the Rancho Bernardo Chamber of Commerce and its successor, the North San Diego Business Chamber, having Chaired the Board of both Chambers during his tenure. During 2006, Jim was elected to the Rancho Bernardo Hall of Fame and recognized as the Rotarian of the Year in Rotary District 5340. 

Jim and his wife, Laurel, are celebrating daily their marriage of seven years. Jim’s oldest son, Benj, a Registered Recovery Worker is employed in the mental health field while pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in business and younger son, Jake, is a college senior majoring in criminal justice.

As a member of the Poway OnStage Board since 2006, Jim uses his strengths to help provide a balance between operating the Foundation as a business and embracing the creativity and risk necessary to thrive as a vibrant and healthy arts organization.

Robin Bettin

Robin has been working in the field of Parks and Recreation for 35 years.  Locally, she has worked for the cities of El Cajon, Carlsbad, Escondido and now Poway. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation Management from San Diego State University and a Masters of Arts in Management from the University of Redlands. Over the course of her career, she has been heavily involved in the California Parks and Recreation Society, holding numerous local offices and served a four-year term on the State Board of Directors for the professional organization.

Robin is excited to be working in Poway, a community that truly values its parks, recreation, cultural arts and open spaces! Robin values working with other community members on the Board to support Poway OnStage’s mission of Entertaining, Educating and Enriching through Powerful Live Performances.
Elaine Cofrancesco

Elaine’s career has evolved from early work in the mental health field, and included Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling at Poway Counseling Services; Mercy Mental Health; and the Escondido Youth Center. She has been with the Poway Unified School District for over 35 years, serving as teacher, counselor, and administrator.  As Executive Director of Student Support Services, she works with students and families to provide a variety of services to support the health, safety, and welfare of students. Qualifications include a B.A./Music; M.A./Music Education; M.A./Counseling Psychology; and Ph.D./Psychology. She has always been a supporter of the arts and is Nationally Board Certified in Music Therapy. In fourth grade, she started playing the string bass and has a long history of playing in orchestras and jazz ensembles.

She and her husband, Roger Nedrow, reside in Rancho Bernardo.  She values serving as the Chair for the Arts in Education Initiative committee and involving students and teachers in our Introduction to Instruments, Meet the Artists and Children’s Theater Programs sponsored by our Poway OnStage supporters. 

Harold Dokmo

Harold is a man who is truly dedicated to bettering his community.  Here is a man who packed up his wife and two youngsters in 1980 to move from Minneapolis to Rancho Bernardo.  He brought along a healthy supply of Mid-western values and commitment to improving the lives of those around him.  We’ve all been benefiting ever since!

Harold has plenty of solid experience in both the business and nonprofit arenas.  He began his career in the investment field but, within a few short years, he shifted to building and managing apartments.  Next, he acquired a troubled cabinetmaker with 25 employees and grew the business to 1,800 employees before selling it a few years later. He continues managing 4,000 Twin City apartment units to this day.  

In addition to his involvement in business ventures, Harold has been engaged in a wide range of volunteer and charitable activities. Over the past 30 years he has been a regular participant in the Chamber of Commerce, RB Sunrise Rotary and the RB Presbyterian Church. When added to his board participation on the San Diego Symphony, Rancho Bernardo Business Association and Palomar Pomerado Hospital Foundation, it’s easy to see the value Harold brings to the Poway OnStage Board.

“We love our community and couldn’t ever imagine living elsewhere,” he says, his willingness to commit his time, resources and family to the betterment of North County makes this increasingly apparent.

Wayne Hamburger

Wayne was born and raised in New York City, during the heyday of the NY Yankees’ champion teams of the early 1960s.  Growing up he developed his passion for baseball and then theater. A common school trip was to go to Yankee Stadium or “into the City” to watch performances at Lincoln Center and Broadway theaters.

Wayne left New York to attend college at MIT in Cambridge. He graduated with a degree in Math & Computer Science. During his time in Boston, Wayne maintained his love for baseball by attending Red Sox games at Fenway Park. He also polished his goaltending skills by playing for MIT’s JV hockey team for 3 years.

After graduation, Wayne worked on Magnetic Fusion research at the MIT National Magnet Lab as a scientific programmer. Two years later, after experiencing the Blizzard of ’78, he decided it was time to head to balmier climes and brought his computer skills to San Diego. Wayne has spent the last 38+ years, developing software for a variety of different disciplines, such as Magnetic Fusion Research (again), Online Real Estate Systems, Biomedical/Pharmaceuticals and Health Care Insurance. And even in sunny San Diego, he managed to play ice hockey for another 20 years.

After moving to Poway in 1995, Wayne created Computer Software Consultants, Inc. (CSC).  CSC’s sole purpose is to provide highly competent computer support and guidance to small businesses.  CSC is known as “your part-time IT department.” providing all the services that you would expect from a team of full-time IT professionals, without the overhead. CSC works as a partner with their clients.

Wayne’s interests include, of course, baseball – Go Padres!; live theater and music – he has been an avid fan of Poway OnStage for many years and also attends many classic rock concerts; traveling – with his amazingly supportive significant other, Sharon – having been to such diverse locales as the Amazon, Mt. Everest and the Serengeti; hiking, golfing and spending time with his two wonderful adult children, Kyle and Ariel.

Wayne joined the Poway OnStage board in February, 2016 and is helping to create an exciting future for world-class live performances in Poway!

Toni’s background spans several cities and states known for their commitment to fine food, health and wellness. Born into a family with a passion for cooking from Earth’s Table, she was weaned on herbs, grains and essential oils – the best for culinary medicine as well as to balance the Mind, Body and Spirit.

She is current owner, with her husband, Rick, of North County San Diego’s own Café Merlot and Lifestyles INFOCUS, focusing on great food that speaks to the doctor within. Healthy food never tasted so delicious.

For Toni, the Arts discipline us in ways that satisfy our five senses – the Poway OnStage mission allows individuals from all generations to be touched and benefited by this gift.

Dan Krall

Dan joined Girl Scouts San Diego as their Chief Financial Officer in 2010. Prior to that, he served in a variety of financial management roles at a number of high technology firms in San Diego and San Jose. Girl Scouts San Diego has afforded him theopportunity to apply his financial vocation while helping to lead the premier leadership development organization for girls. He enjoys bringing both his financial and non-profit background to Poway OnStage, assisting the organization in achieving its goals of offering great live performances and in its Arts in Education program.

Dan was raised in western New York and northern California, moving south to attend San Diego State University. He and his wife, Bunny, have resided in Poway for over 20 years, and live within walking distance of the Performing Arts Center. They have two adult daughters, Katy and Michelle.

 He is actively involved in the Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary Club, Poway High School Grad Nite, Poway High Hall of Fame selection committee and Girl Scout volunteer activities, and previously served on the Poway Girls Softball League Board.  His hobbies include bicycling, hiking, gardening and honing his handyman skills. 

Dan is thrilled to have been selected to serve on the Board of Directors of Poway OnStage and have the opportunity to join the community’s premiere arts association.

Leah McBride

Leah was born and raised in San Diego and graduated from Poway High.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in Business Administration with a double concentration in Finance and International Business. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Adelaide in Australia, where she lived, traveled, and explored for three years. 

Leah is a Senior Loan Officer and Mortgage Advisor at Skyline Home Loans (formerly Rancho Financial), located in Rancho Bernardo. Skyline Home Loans is a direct mortgage banking company, offering a wide variety of products for both purchases and refinances, including Jumbo options, 30/15 Year Fixed, FHA, VA, Hybrid ARMs, and Reverse Mortgages. Leah finds fulfillment in the unique combination of personal interactions and financial strategy with her role as a mortgage advisor.

Leah now lives in Carmel Mountain Ranch with her husband, Ben, and their two dogs. She is an active member and treasurer of the Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary, Poway Unit, involved in the Rancho Bernardo Business Association, and also Poway Real Estate Professionals. She enjoys hiking, water & snow sports, and (trying to) golf with her husband.

Leah is excited to be one of the newest board members for Poway OnStage and looks forward to contributing to an already outstanding organization.

Belinda Romero

Teaching 3rd graders, serving in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, bringing history to life aboard the Star of India, volunteering with Canine Companions for Independence, and 18 years with the City of Poway demonstrate Belinda’s commitment to serving others. As a Certified Public Manager, she places priority on leadership and inspiring others to achieve their goals. She utilizes her abilities and undergraduate degrees in education, environment, and science as a basis for providing experiences for individuals and families in communities. In her highly prized free time, she has traveled extensively to learn more about other cultures.  Highlights include Vietnam and Cambodia, Turkey and Greece, Central America, and a 30-day train trip across the United States.

Board service gives Belinda the opportunity to be a part of creating unique experiences for the community in a fiscally responsible manner. She has served as an Ex Officio and City liaison to the Board for a number of years and has enjoyed being involved in the Finance Committee. She is most impressed with the success of the annual Taste of Our Towne fundraiser.
