Love as an action.
Love Letters from Vietnam tells the story of Vietnam Veteran Sgt John K. Fuller and his relationship with his daughter as told through letters he sent home during the war. Like all “For the Sender” productions, Love Letters from Vietnam is built around songs that Woodard creates based on letters written for or about loved ones. Woodard will be joined on stage by actress/musician Caitlin Evanson (of Taylor Swift’s tour) and backed by a full band in this theatrical musical performance.
After years of chasing his dreams, singer-songwriter Alex Woodard finally had a record deal and an album to promote. He offered to write a song for anybody who pre-ordered his self-titled release; all they had to do was send him a letter about their story, and he would write and record a song just for them at his kitchen table. From this, For the Sender was born: part songwriters circle, part story telling session, For the Sender is a collective of musicians, led by Woodard, who put to music letters written by the living celebrating those they have lost.
